Matthew has always shown an interest in the property industry and Barbers has helped nurture this passion. He began working part time for Barbers in 2008, before graduating from The University of West of England with a BSc (Hons) degree in Property Management & Investment in 2012 and becoming full time. As a Shropshire lad, he specialises in properties in the Wellington, Telford & Shrewsbury areas.

Every day is different working as an Estate Agent and, for Matthew, the unique properties, areas and people he sees along the way make the job special. In 2021, Matthew became the Manager of our Wellington/Telford Branch and is also a Sales Director for Barbers.

What is your favourite food & drink? 
Ribeye Steak and a pint of local ale.
Where is your favourite place locally/In Shropshire/Cheshire/Your Local Town or Village?
I am spoilt for choice living in Shropshire, but one of my favourite places is Cardingmill Valley and The Long Mynd.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at work?
I enjoy days out with my family; I like to make the most of my time off work, so weekends tend to involve a day trip or activity somewhere.
What makes Barbers different?
I believe that our Staff make Barbers different. A lot of our Staff are qualified and also stay with the company for many years and in some cases end up returning!
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
From my earliest memories I always wanted to be involved in property. As a child my dad was a Senior Partner at Barbers and I always wanted to work with him, I started picking up experience from a young age and a real interest in property.
What is your role at Barbers?
I am one of the Sales Directors at Barbers and manage our Wellington / Telford Branch. I also conduct Residential Sales Valuations, specialising in the Telford & Shrewsbury area.
