Make It Market Drayton: A Community United for Local Growth
Last night, Gail Silvester, our Sales Director at Market Drayton, attended The Stag pub in Market Drayton which played host to a vibrant and inspiring community gathering, organised by the town’s Mayor, Councillor Tim Manton, as part of the Make It Market Drayton initiative. Aslo hosted by Helen McCabe, who is the campaigner, working with the local community. The event brought together local business owners, and community leaders with a shared goal: to make Market Drayton a more connected, thriving, and proud place to live and work.
A Mayor’s Vision for Change
Councillor Manton opened the evening with a heartfelt message about the importance of civic pride and collaboration. “We want people to be proud of Market Drayton again,” he said, outlining plans to support local businesses, and improve the town’s infrastructure.
The Make It Market Drayton initiative, launched earlier this year, is a grassroots movement designed to empower the local community and encourage sustainable growth through collaboration and innovation.
Free Workshops and Support
One of the key announcements of the night was the launch of free workshops for local businesses and individuals. These sessions will cover:
- Building a website on a budget
- Social media made simple
- Getting found online—even without a website
These workshops are fully funded and designed to be accessible to everyone, regardless of technical experience.
A Night of Connection and Collaboration
The event wasn’t just about learning—it was about connecting. With drinks flowing and conversations buzzing, The Stag provided the perfect setting for community members to share ideas, build relationships, and celebrate the spirit of Market Drayton.
Looking Ahead
The success of the Make It Market Drayton event is a testament to what can be achieved when a community comes together with purpose and passion. As the initiative continues to grow, residents and businesses alike are encouraged to get involved, share their ideas, and help shape the future of the town.
