’Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the town,
Not a viewing was stirring, the phones had died down;
The “For Sale” boards were shining with twinkling care,
In hopes that new buyers soon would be there.
The team were all nestled, their work finally done,
While visions of sold signs and commissions spun;
And I — ever hopeful, with tea in my hand —
Dreamed of more completions, exactly as planned.
When out in my inbox there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the chair to see what was the matter;
Away to my laptop I flew like a flash,
Opened the portal and checked through the stash.
The moon on the rooftops and frost on the ground,
Gave a sparkle to homes where joy would abound;
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But an offer — full asking! — now that brings good cheer!
With a click and a buzz, so lively and slick,
I knew in a moment, it must be St. Nick!
But not with his sleigh, nor reindeer in line,
He’d booked a valuation — “that cottage is mine!”
“Now market it smartly, show charm and delight,
Use every angle, make sure it looks right!
From portals to socials, ensure it’s in view —
Now sell away, Barbers — they’re counting on you!”
As leaves that before the wild winter winds fly,
So offers and memos soon mounted up high;
So up went the SOLD signs, so glossy and new,
While happy clients cheered as good agents do.
And then, in a twinkling, I heard by the gate,
A seller who smiled — they’d just exchanged late!
Their laughter was warm, their thanks sincere,
“Barbers have done it — our Christmas is here!”
He was merry and bright, from his head to his shoe,
And I laughed when I heard him — my work here was through;
A wink of my eye and a nod to the night,
Another completion — oh, what a sight!
He spoke not a word, but drove out of sight,
Calling, “Happy Sales to all, and to all a good night!”
