Alderford Lake - Careers Fayre for Marches Academy Trust

Today,Alderford Lake played host to the Futures Fayre, an exciting event designed to help students explore career pathways and opportunities. With over 65 exhibitors from universities, businesses, and specialist sectors, the Fayre provided a vibrant and interactive environment for up to 1500 students from across the Marches Academy Trust network, in Years 6, 11 and Sixth Form, to discover what their future could look like.

Barbers’ involvement highlights the importance of showcasing local career opportunities. Estate agency work is far more than selling houses—it’s about negotiation, marketing, customer service, and understanding the property market. By engaging with students, Barbers demonstrated the diverse roles within their business, from negotiators and lettings specialists to marketing and administration.

The Marquee – Businesses and Pathway Providers
The Outdoor Arena – Forces and Automotive Sector
Barbers were part of the Business Zone, sharing insights into career progression, training opportunities, and the skills needed to thrive in property services. Their experienced team, includingMark Hares, Rachael Fayle, Maisy Goodwin,Gail Silvester FNAEAand Grace Williams, answered questions about work experience,Propertymarkqualifications, and what makes a successful estate agent. Plus gave away lots of goodies for the students!
