Boomtime for Lettings in Newport
15th May 2009
Barbers Residential Lettings Department is experiencing exceptional growth in the Newport area. “We are currently crying out for properties in Newport” reports Richard Heath, Lettings Manager.
The first two months of 2009 has seen record levels of properties let by Barbers in the area. 65% of properties let are either two or three bedroom with tenants relocating to the area for work or better school catchments during the crucial school years. Sadly 18% of our tenants so far are renting because they are in a family break up, as well as the obvious number who can’t get into the property market. The demand for larger properties is also high with a good number of four bedroom homes being let in excess of £800 per calendar month.
With the current state of the housing market it is interesting to note that half the properties let in 2009 had been on the market for sale!
An increasing number of enquiries for rental properties are coming via our website with 80% of people going on line first when looking to move house. This is a convenient and up to date way of finding out what properties are available. This is especially the case if people don’t live in the local area and find it harder to keep up to date with the availability of properties. Barbers have invested heavily in website design and search engines to ensure property maximum exposure on the internet.
Barbers have a substantial database of registered potential tenants; we often take on a property on a Friday and have someone wanting to let it on a Monday.
If you have a vacant property our knowledgeable staff would be only too happy to go through the letting procedures with you. Contact a member of the Barbers Newport Lettings team on 01952 820239.
