Home Information Packs

Home Information Packs (HIPs) were first introduced approximately 18 months ago and in spite of some early teething problems, the process does now seem to have settled down.

It will be no longer be acceptable for a vendor to have simply ordered a HIP, certain important documents will have to be included within the pack before a property can be placed on the market or even introduced to prospective buyers.  This is referred to as “First Day Marketing”.

For marketing to commence, the Home Information Pack must contain the following documents:

  • An Index
  • An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC)
  • A Sales Statement
  • Land Registry Title Documents & Plan

And from 6 April 2009

A completed Property Information Questionnaire (PIQ).

The PIQ will provide a summary of information provided by the vendor about the property.

Any delay in bringing all these documents together will cause a knock on delay in enabling the property to be marketed. Our experienced team at Barbers will assist you with this process and make it as straight forward as possible.
