Welcome to Barbers Whitchurch
Whitchurch and its surrounding area has a population of 13,650 and is the oldest continually inhabited town in Shropshire. It’s the only town in Shropshire to be built on its original Roman Site.

One of Shropshire's chain of market towns, Whitchurch was granted 'town' status in 1284, and was awarded a market charter in the 14th century. Today there's still a vibrant market every Friday and a farmers market on Saturday mornings monthly.
Whitchurch also has a reputation for being 'The home of tower clocks'. Local clockmakers JB Joyce & Co were established in 1690 and are the oldest tower clock manufacturers in the world.

Whitchurch also has a famous reputation for cheese making. Despite lying in north Shropshire, Whitchurch is widely regarded as the home of Cheshire cheese.
Despite a rich history, Whitchurch isn't rooted in the past. It offers enough large chain stores and smaller local shops to attract people from a large outlying area of north Shropshire and south Cheshire.

Not only can you find all the necessities, but a variety of more traditional, specialist retailers provide visitors with a real shopping experience, in a town which possesses plenty of character.

If you want to get out and about you could take one of the five long distance walking routes, including the Shropshire Way. The town has its own Rugby, Football, Hockey, Cricket clubs and many bowling clubs. There is a wide choice of good pubs and restaurants within Whitchurch and the surrounding areas.

There is an excellent choice of schools in the town and surrounding area. Whitchurch has is own civic centre, library, leisure centre, swimming pool and has a selection of Doctors and Dentists. Whitchurch is one of a few Market Towns that have its own Community Hospital which is a huge benefit to the local people.

Whitchurch has great communication links to the surrounding towns and cities of Chester Liverpool, Manchester, Stoke, Shrewsbury, Crewe, and the West Midlands all within 1 hour. The Railway station has direct links to Crewe and Cardiff.

With the vast array of facilities this Market Town has to offer it is an appealing place to live. Mark and his team have excellent local knowledge and are on hand to give advice on buying, selling and letting a property in Whitchurch and surrounding areas.
