Shrewsbury has a population of around 100,000 and is Shropshire’s county town. With a long standing history dating back to the 5th century BC, the town still retains many of its original buildings that have seen Shrewsbury develop into the thriving town it is today.

Shrewsbury has many Hotels and fabulous restaurants and bars that suit all pockets. There are also major leisure activities within the town including swimming and leisure clubs, boat cruises up and down the River Severn, Boat clubs and the Quarry Park which holds the longest running Flower Show in the UK every August. There are concerts and festivals held in the Quarry and the West Mid Show is held annually on the County Show Ground. The Music Hall, which is located off the original market square, holds productions of all kinds including the annual pantomime. A brand new Theatre is currently under development by the Welsh Bridge.

There is an excellent selection of schooling including “Shrewsbury School” which has Royal heritage and many famous past students including Charles Darwin who was born in Shrewsbury, Michael Palin and Michael Heseltine.

Shrewsbury is the only town in Shropshire to have a Football League club and especially now with its brand new state of the art 10,000 Seater Stadium.

The town has excellent road and rail links to all parts of the country and in 2008 there will be a direct rail link established with London.
