Welcome to Shrewsbury
Shrewsbury is a Historic Trading town set within a loop of the River Severn which served as natural moat and fortification. There has been a settlement in the town since the 5th century and since then it has expanded greatly over the years. The town centre has many exceptional medieval buildings, including Shrewsbury Castle, Rowley’s House Mansion and the Old Market Hall in centre of Shrewsbury. Shrewsbury is twinned with the Dutch town of Zutphen.
Shrewsbury’s most famous son was Charles Darwin who was born and educated in Shrewsbury before travelling the world. King Edward VI founded Shrewsbury School, which was originally cited in close to the castle. The current site is located above the banks of The River Severn overlooking the Quarry. The school has had many famous pupils other than Darwin including Michael Hesseltine and Michael Palin.
Shrewsbury offers a wide range of leisure and recreational facilities, including the new multi-million pound Severn Theatre and has three main shopping centres, which are home to many famous high street brands. There is also an excellent choice of restaurants and bars throughout the town. Shrewsbury is ideally situated for those who enjoy living in a town but have the benefit of the countryside surrounding it.
Barbers Shrewsbury Branch is located in the heart of the town and can be found on Bellstone, Shrewsbury opposite the Market Hall.
Simon and his team are delighted to welcome you to their office and invite you to call in, e-mail or telephone for advice on buying, selling and lettings in the area.
