Expert Witness, Arbitration and Mediation
Mike Taylor, Bob Oakes, Simon Beedles and David Lowe have extensive experience in preparing expert witness reports and giving evidence in Court, to Tribunals and at Arbitration. Mike Taylor is also an Expert Advocate.
Mike Taylor has appeared in the High Courts in the Strand, at County Court and in Planning Inquires and Valuation Tribunals both as an expert witness appointed under the Civil Procedure Rules and as an Expert Advocate. Bob Oakes has been on the RICS Panel of Arbitrators. Simon Beedles and David Lowe have acted in Rent review and Dilapidation Arbitrations.
Mike Taylor acted as expert witness for the Respondent in the landmark case of National Westminster Bank plc v Jones relating to the dilution of security by the granting of agricultural tenancies. He also appeared for the claimants in Michael, Bates & Heywood v Mill relating to Agricultural mortgages and repossession.
Areas of specialism include cases relating to Commercial and Rural Property Rent Reviews, Dilapidations, Landlord and Tenant Act 1954, Agricultural Law, Single Farm Payments. Freehold valuation claims, Compulsory Purchase Claims, Town and Country Planning matters including Planning Appeals.
Strict adherence to time limits given in Court directions, the overriding obligation to the Court and other aspects of Civil Procedures Rules are all understood.
