Joining Barbers in 2003, where she started as a Sales Negotiator in our Wellington/Telford Branch, she was soon promoted to a Valuer, where she has developed extensive knowledge of the Residential Property Market and the area.

Joy is Senior Sales Negotiator in the Wellington/Telford branch and is the clients' first point of contact. Her role includes registering applicants, liaising with Vendors, arranging viewings, taking offers, confirming sales and progressing sales through to exchange and completion. Joining Barbers in 2007, Joy has a wealth of experience in the property market, as well the ability to provide excellent customer service, which has been developed from previous customer service role earlier in her career.

Sophie originally joined Barbers in 2005 as a Sales Negotiator in our Wellington/Telford branch and after a spell away travelling she returned to Barbers in 2008 and is now back in her original role as Sales Negotiator at our Wellington/Telford branch.  Since returning Sophie has worked for Barbers sales and lettings departments and so has excellent knowlegde of the property industry. As a member of The National Association of Estate Agents, Sophie is a dedicated member of our team and provides first class customer service and as such drives successful property sales.

Gordon is an accompanied viewer for Barbers Wellington/Telford Branch. If you are unavailable during office hours to show prospective purchasers around your property, Gordon is on hand to assist. He has excellent local knowledge and is informed of all property details before the visit.

Before joining Barbers, Gordon's has a wealth of experience, including 30 years in the Special Constabulary, 10 of which he was Divisional Commandant, responsible for the supervision of 120 officers. He was also a member of West Midlands Police Authority, where he had joint responsibility with the Chief Constable for providing an efficient and effective police service for the West Midlands. Other experience includes working as Car Rental Operator, which extensively developed his customer service skills.

Sophie Wilson - Lettings Negotiator

Sophie originally joined Barbers in 2005 working as a Sales Negotiator in the Newport Branch and returned in 2009 as an active member of the Lettings Department in Wellington/Telford. Her role includes liaising with landlords and tenants on all aspects of the lettings process, dealing with registering applicants, arranging viewings, negotiating lets and progressing them through to completion.

Sophie has started studying for the NFOPP Level 3 Award in Residential Letting and Property Management.

Lizzie Yates, BSc (Hons), MNAEA - Lettings Valuer

Lizzie is a Lettings Valuer for Barbers established lettings department, spending her time advising landlords on how best to market their properties, as well as finding the right tenants. Joining Barbers in April 2007 as a lettings negotiator, Lizzie has since progressed to Lettings Valuer in our Wellington/Telford office.

As a Member of the National Association of Estate Agents and with her experience of the rental market, Lizzie is well equipped to provide excellent customer service and offer knowledgeable advice to both landlords and tenants.

Mike Arthan, a Shropshire man has worked at Barbers for over 30 years. As the Managing Director of the business he oversees all departments of the firm, and also undertakes private client work.

He is a Chartered Surveyor, a Fellow of the National Association of Estate Agents and a Member of Association of Residential Lettings Agents, and a former member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors National Residential Faculty Board.

Simon Beedles FRICS - Head of Commercial Property

Simon is Head of the Commercial Property Department at Barbers. He qualified as Chartered Surveyor in 1981. He initially worked for District Valuer/Valuation Office in Truro and since 1978 has worked in private practice in Shropshire covering the county, into Wales, West Midlands and The Potteries.

Simon carries out Investment work nationally and has considerable experience in agency and valuation work.

John Clayton BSc (Est Man), FRICS - Consultant

John is a Consultant to the Company and is a highly experienced and renowned commercial surveyor with special expertise in Planning and Development.

He was a key advisor in the Old Hall School redevelopment in Wellington, Telford and has conducted many planning appeals and enquiries. He has been involved in many key property developments throughout Telford Shrewsbury and the West Midlands.

John is a board member of the Telford Chamber of Commerce.

David is a Chartered Surveyor working in Barbers Commercial Property Department. As a Shropshire lad, David studied at Wrekin College and then at The University of The West of England undertaking an Estate Management Degree.

Joining Phoenix Beard Property Consultants in Birmingham 1992, David qualified as a Chartered Surveyor and Member of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 1994, equating to over 20 years experience in the property profession.

David is a member of Telford Business Partnership, Shropshire Chamber of Commerce, Trustee of Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust and Governor of Telford College of Arts and Technology.

Starting at Barbers in 1988 on a Youth Training Scheme Kay decided to leave Barbers to have a family and pursue other interests before returning in 2001 as a Lister/Administrator, where she assists with the day-to-day running of the branch.
